Our First Office in Brooksville, Florida

Tommie Dawson Realty is a 3rd Generation Family owned real estate brokerage serving Hernando, Citrus & Pasco Counties that was founded by Tommie & Thelma Dawson in 1952.

The two aviators enjoyed a unique view of their market area and were well known for their expertise of land and development of small acreage subdivisions.  Suburban Acres, Deer Haven Estates, Istachatta Acres and Country Estate I & II are some of their projects scattered throughout Hernando & Citrus County.

Tommie & Thelma were second generation Hernando descendants that were woven into the fabric of Hernando County life.  Tommie served as a County Commissioner and leadership of numerous civic organizations.  In addition to Thelmas involvement with many civic organizations she was also a member of Grasshoppers Flying Club, a women only aviator organization and participated in air races from Canada to Ft. Lauderdale.  Thelma was also very active in State politics and flew political candidates she supported across the state to campaign.

In the mid 1980’s their middle daughter Debbie, husband Buddy, and 1 year old daughter Lauren Ashley Selph joined the family business and several years later assumed leadership responsibility. 

Since the 1990’s Tommie Dawson Realty has been actively involved in the acquisition of “Preservation” land and has brokered over 12,000 acres in Hernando, Citrus & Pasco County.  Tommie Dawson Realty brokered the first Gopher Mitigation Park (Perry Oldenberg Park) in the State of Florida; the first Hernando County Environmental Land acquisition (Cypress Lakes) and the northern anchor (5,200 acres) of the Annutulaga C.A.R.L. program. 

Tommie Dawson Realty is a recognized leader in Commercial & Industrial properties having brokered Coastal Way & Coastal Landing Shopping Centers, Brooksville Lowes, Rural King, Burger King, Taco Bell, Wendys, Checkers, Capital City Banks and many others.

In the mid 2,000’s Shaun & Lauren Selph Andrew, representing the 3rd generation of the family business joined the firm in 2005.  In spite of the near collapse of the real estate market in 2006 both established a strong presence in both Commercial and Residential/Acreage markets.

In addition to providing client representation for all types of real estate brokerage we also represent clients in the rezoning & permitting of their properties, Tax Assessment challenges, Highest & Best Use Analysis and Valuation Services.
